    You should be able to take the connector off a discarded 3.5" drive and transplant it to yours, assuming you have the requisite equipment and skills. Check with local PC repair shops for used or Digi-Key if you need new.

    If the other recovery programs don't work any better, you could try Amok Exif Sorter to rename the files based on their EXIF data, i.e., Date taken, etc.
