WD Gold shows as unpartitioned, cannot initialize due to I/O error

Sorry for the very delayed reply. Any drive that sustains a physical shock is likely to have physical damage and should be left powered off and sent to a professional data recovery lab with the right tools and knowledge to safely assess and recover your data. To find a reputable lab nearby...

    Damaged Flash Drive

As per our email conversation. Without all the chips, it is game over.

    Data lost during partition

Sorry...let me correct my post. I thought I was looking at a different forum. Step 1 - remove the drive from your system and connect to another system as secondary drive Step 2 - get a full clone or image of the drives that suffered data loss STep 3 - scan the clone/image for lost data using...

    SSD addon for DDI

Jump forward to 2023 and I have had the DeepSpar PCIe (DPI) add-on, as well as the PC3000 Portable with the NVMe port. I've been reading a single apple SSD on the DeepSpar system since May of 2021 and have only gotten about 30%, thus far. The SSD will not read with PC3000 Portable or any other...

SKhynix M+B mSATA SSD not recognized

Controller is not supported by PC3000 for firmware fixes. Linux is only talking to the Jmicron controller in the USB bridge being used. Probably best to send out to a data recovery professional with tools and experience to handle it, if it is even recoverable at all.

    Data Recovery Software

Theoretically, UFS Eplorer is represented by R-Explorer, another similar product made by the same developers. Personally, I'd put UFS Explorer at the top of the list.

Manually clean and align misaligned platters

How much is the data worth? Why didn't you seek professional assistance before screwing it up? What is the full model of this drive? What tools do you have (ie, PC3000, MRT, DFL) to handle the firmware damage? As for your chances, I'd hazzard to guess very low.

Best practice for PC-3000 Data Extractor recovering Time Machine backups

For reference, this is the link to ACE's blog about how to handle Time Machine backups - https://blog.acelaboratory.com/time-machine-hfs.html (requires login to access) My general rule of thumb is to charge a bit extra for Time Machine backups and focus on providing a full clone (as best I can...

    ST2000LM003, HN-M201RAD/AV2 Donor check

Are you able to power on long enough to read the preamp details in terminal for each drive? That part is essential. Another way to check is to take the patient PCB and put it on the donor. If you don't get a preamp mismatch error, you should be good to go.

    Toshiba Head Swap Experiences

MQ01 is not SMR. MQ04 is SMR. There is no way that the heads on the 500GB MQ01 will be equipped to handle the platter density of a 2TB MQ04 on a good day, let alone with SMR being brought into the picture.

Accidentally formatted an SD Card, with different file system.

Wasting your time scanning a drive full of zeroes, no matter the software will still result in, at best, files filled with zeroes. As already stated, your only hope is to have a data recovery professional access the card memory directly and hope that you get lucky and the data is still recoverable.

Samsung 250GB SSD freezes computer on plugging in

Perhaps we could start by your providing the full model of the SSD. The odds are, the SSD is in a safe firmware safe mode due to damaged firmware stored on the NAND. Assuming that it is a model that is supported by PC3000 SSD, it might be recoverable by a professional data recovery lab with...
