When a HDD has defective sectors and bad blocks and files are saved in the good sectors (according to the corruption test after copying the files to the HDD and they are intact on the disk), these bad sectors contaminate the good sectors until they reach the sectors where the files are and corrupt them. Does it matter if the HDD is in storage mode or in use? In the case of a backup archiving HDD

or is there a function that prevents the bad sectors from contaminating the good sectors?
