Thought this was interesting so I figure I'd share. Recently for the first time I had a customer bring in an HP Simplesave external hard drive. The USB bridge was cooked, the drive had some bad sectors and was encrypted.
The bridge had a 4061 number on it but a lot of the numbers were just X'ed out and the shape/layout was clearly different from any of the My Book bridge boards that I had.
First I tried the decrypt option in Data Extractor. It found the key just fine, but the decryption didn't work, it was still scrambled. So then (after cloning to a fresh drive) I tried a My Book bridge that was as close as possible to the number and it works even though it looks completely different.
I know these drives aren't common, so hopefully this helps someone else who's trying to figure one of these out.
