Activision has launched a new bundle for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone, but its anime-inspired cosmetics are already drawing criticism from some fans, with many calling it "something you'd find in a free-to-play mobile game." For years, Call of Duty’s increasingly outlandish operator skins and cosmetic items have divided the community. Despite the backlash, Activision seems undeterred, continuing to release these bundles for Black Ops 6.

Since the game's release on October 25, Black Ops 6 has featured some highly controversial operator skins. One of the most criticized came in mid-November with a neon green Dragon Knight skin included in a new Mastecraft bundle. Fans were perplexed by this skin, which seemed out of place for a game set in the early 90s. However, others defended it, arguing that Call of Duty is not a military simulator but an arcade shooter, and such unrealistic skins are to be expected.

Despite continued calls for more realistic operator skins, Activision appears unphased by the criticism, unveiling the Otaku We Gotchu bundle, which could be one of the most outlandish yet. This new bundle includes a Kawaii emote, an anime-inspired operator skin, and two weapon blueprints—one for the LW3A1 Frostline sniper rifle (Helm) and one for the C9 submachine gun (Hardwire). It also includes various cosmetic items like charms, sprays, loading screens, emblems, and a new reticle.

While the operator skin itself might not seem as extreme as some other Call of Duty bundles, the weapon inspect element for the Frostline sniper rifle blueprint has raised eyebrows. The inspect animation shows a miniature version of the operator skin sitting on the gun, which fans have criticized. On Reddit, users expressed confusion, with one commenting, "I don’t understand why people pay money for this," and another suggesting they would tolerate such skins if the game allowed them to disable cosmetics in the settings.

The demand to disable Call of Duty’s bizarre operator skins has been growing, as each new bundle seems to introduce more outlandish items. The Otaku We Gotchu bundle features a particularly wild weapon inspect element, and a recent leak teased an upcoming bundle with a finishing move that allows players to defeat enemies using a unicorn fart.
