ProSoft Down, Data Rescue 4 Deactivated

So it seems that whenever Prosoft's activation servers go down it deactivates all copies of their software. I'm trying to run Data Rescue 4, and it's now giving a "Validation Failed" message when I try to launch the program. I checked and their homepage is down too, so I can't run the program until they get back online.

Idiots! What sort of moron writes software that needs to be activated each and every time? Even Microsoft isn't that stupid.

I'll give em 24hrs, then I'm calling my credit card to get my money back since they stole what I legally bought.

I'm also removing it from my store I think. I don't want to be getting phone calls about this because someone downloads the program from my site and then it stops working on them.

Hello,
Do you like the software also .What was the reason you purchased it in first place

For HFS with a lot of bad sectors in the catalog file it often gets the best results. I've seen cases where UFS and R-Studio were both returning complete nonsense folder structure and Data Rescue 4 was able to get a pretty good result.

Aren't they all expensive when they know you're using it to make money? Sadly I'd guess 99% of people who buy it are using it on client's drives and just never buy the tech license. Gets very expensive when you try to do things the up and up way.

If I can't justify the cost, I find something else that will meet the need at an acceptable cost, if there is anything. Violating EULAs is stealing, and no way to run a business. What goes around, comes around.

Well,
I cannot comment on ufs but i do not have good experience with rstudio .Rstudio does not parse HFS+ partitions many times .I had a case few days ago of a wdc hdd with zero sector bad .Rest all sectors were good .This tool could not reconstruct HFS+ structure properly .I used PC3000 6.1 to rebuild structure
