Seagate Part Number Interpretation

So today I just discovered something about Seagate part numbers, perhaps you guys already know this.

  • The Fourth Digit: Is the Interface Type (generally 0 for IDE, and 1 for SATA) So you can look for donors with the opposite one if it's a model they made both versions of.

E.G.: These two are actually the same HDA and cross compatible.
9BJ03G-500 - IDE version
9BJ13G-500 - SATA version

Anyone know what the other digits mean in more detail?
