Terrifying 10-platter glass substrate 3.5" drives!

This picture strikes fear into me:

Some Japanese company, Hoya, is pitching 0.5mm thick glass platters to HDD companies. I can just imagine the fallout when Seagate adopts this and we end up with piles of drives coming described as "it sounds like a crunchy broken glass sound inside".

If the drives will have transparent top cases (like in the picture) it will be easy to diagnostic in case of media damage
