Here is the solution with the Toshiba adapter. I don't know if this will be of any help to anyone. Make sure that the drive is face up in this case.

I confirm the Samsung adapter trick works also with MRT.

I wasn't aware that MRT supported Boot ROM code mode. I guess they must have added it since I last looked at it.

I Think that ACE they make WD adapte, one for 2.5 and 3.5 hdd's.

I think the new systems they are shipping include the 2.5" adapter, but anyone who's had PC-3000 for a length of time didn't get this adapter.
