Starting next month, Xbox Cloud Gaming is reportedly set to allow users to stream the Xbox games they already own, greatly expanding the number of titles available for players on the go.

Launched in 2020, Xbox Cloud Gaming enables users to play supported games on various devices without the need for a console or PC. Currently in beta, the service is available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers in select regions. Until now, cloud streaming has only been available for games included in the Game Pass catalog, but that could change soon, as rumors suggest that players will be able to stream titles from their personal game library via the cloud.

According to a report from The Verge, certain Xbox users will gain access to cloud streaming for their owned games starting as early as next month. The company plans to "test" streaming for games not currently part of the Game Pass library, utilizing Microsoft's Project Lapland. The feature will first be available to Xbox Insiders in November, with broader access expected later.

This is not the first time Xbox has hinted at making owned games available for cloud streaming. Back in 2022, Xbox expressed its intention to unlock users' personal libraries for cloud streaming, but the feature was delayed. The recent rumors suggest that Xbox is now closer to making this long-awaited feature a reality.

Xbox has steadily expanded its cloud gaming presence, including a partnership with Amazon earlier this year to integrate Xbox Cloud Gaming into select Fire TV devices. This move allowed games to be played on new platforms, such as the Amazon Fire TV Stick. If the rumors about owned games being streamable via Xbox Cloud Gaming are true, it would mark a significant step forward for Xbox's cloud gaming ambitions.
