I don't think they are going to lock down the entire blog going forward. That would be detrimental to their own SEO. I think it's just that they want to keep certain information they share a secret, as it might be possible to perform without a PC-3000. For example the unlock of the SED locked drives might be possible from just a terminal connection, and there may be telling information in some of the screenshots they don't want the world to see.

@PCLab Did they just automatically send you the password or did you have to request it? I haven't gotten one, but my support period is expired too.

I think the Password is generated for all their clients. You just need to send a mail to their support team, and within a minute or two you get your password.
