Best data recovery software

I bought the Pro version of DMDE but haven't had a chance to properly learn how to use it's many advanced features. One thing I like about it, is how it automatically enumerates and shows files of partitions it finds after scanning, so you can see which partition has the files you're looking for. With restorer Ultimate (a R-Studio rip-off), you have to re-scan each found partition to see if it is the one you're really after. Fzabkar is a wiz at DMDE and I must study some of his several posts where he explains very clearly how to use it.

I think most data recovery pros use the following software each of which has it's specific strengths:

R-Studio (best all around, especially good for RAID)
GetDataBack (good for certain things, especially FAT filesystems)
Data Rescue 4 (best for Macs)
UFSExplorer (handles some odd file systems like XFS, decent for Macs, best for NAS recoveries)

along with some free software that has some powerful features:

ddrescue (cloning drives with a few bad sectors)
testdisk & photorec (surprisingly good at file carving / RAW recovery, good features for partition adjustment / search)

Great! I will test them one by one on my computer and write reviews for them.
