don't forget it could cost a "big" company a million bucks to run for a year - a dozen engineers, building, software/hardware purchase/maintenance contracts/licensing, electricity/gas/water, etc etc etc. so they need to get more jobs in(advertising) and also charge a decent price.
what the customer gets is somewhat a piece of mind that these engineers have likely a good amount of combined experience and decent tools.
not to say Jared, Armabir or any one of us couldn't produce a similar end result, it is simply they HAVE to charge more.
