Help. Platter full of fingerprints, is there hope?

I wanted to know your opinion on this guy's video from HDD recovery services.
He put some glue with a glue gun in a spot of the hard drive so that the new head would not hit the scratches on the platter and get destroyed. What do you think?

Some sort of spacer needs to go there. It's really the only way to work with a drive with a destroyed parking zone. I find it easier to work with materials other than hot glue, but the idea is the same.

I think it has nothing at all to do with your case. Your drive doesnt have a damaged parking zone, or even a parking zone at all. A 2Tb WD drive will have a plastic parking ramp off the platters.
