maybe, but if you already don't know much about JTAG, or how to do it and don't have the tools... there isn't much in the way of help on a start to finish way to do it.
exception is if you buy one of the many mobile tools like RIFF box or easyJTAG that is used for unbricking, and help is there for that from the vendor.
but open source regular JTAG, it is a lot of vague forum posts to put together.
worthwile spending the money on those tools though, I agree.
