SATA Compatible Family For Dolphin?

Does anyone know if there is a SATA family which is heads compatible with the USB only Dolphin family drives? I'm thinking Mercury might be, as they use a compatible SATA PCB for the family. Anyone tried this? There just isn't much available for this odd family.

Or can anyone at least verify the aerial density of this model? Is it 1178?

That's what I expected based on the fact that the PCB is compatible from Mercury family (also SPT 1178), and that they are built all around the same time. So it's probably a safe bet that they will be head swap compatible too. I'll have to try one to see.

Sweet! You saved me the trouble of opening up the WD5000BEVT-75ZAT0 that I've got sitting on my desk. Now to see if the customer approves the quote.

OK, I just reconfirmed the cross compatibility of these two families for heads. Swapped Mercury heads into a Dolphin drive and it's imaging at 70Mb/s from all heads now.

Perhaps I'll add a new sticky to track cross compatible families.
