Seagate EXOS X16 ST16000NM001G

this is a fairly new drive 16TB
Drive idents to PC3K but does not initialize to the file system
this is the terminal output
thinking firmware issues or media cache.
anyone have ideas for this?

Yes.
They dont have a way to work with this drive yet.
I guess the only option is to wait for the utilities to catch up to the technology

Yeah, sometimes it takes a while for them to investigate and do the necessary research for new models.

Have you tried unlocking the ROM with the latest PC-3000? I know they have a newer, second unlocking method which I've never yet needed. If you can unlock the ROM and get terminal access, then things might be possible.

Ace Labs still says they don't have a utility for this family of drives yet - was hoping maybe someone here might know more or have another way

Regardless of having a utility, you can do a lot over terminal. But you first need to investigate whether the ROM unlock is supported to get terminal access. I've recovered plenty of Seagate drives that PC-3000 didn't have utilities for by just using terminal commands.
