@Amabir, on the case of your Canon 80d video recovery, which I offered to help, it's actually not what you thinking and am so sorry if it really get you angry. You are angry because I didn't share the idea/knowledge with you but I bet you that wasn't the plan, you were just too quick to conclude. Am always very happy to share the little I know and moreover am not competing in anyway with you.
Am really sorry and please don't be offended. ;)

Bankole ,
Thats Fine ,Jared Can You Add a Hack to the forum were we can just press the like button if we like a post like i wanted to do this to bankole's post .Also how about a solved button also "Which would mean that people do come to know that the problem was solved .I have seen this at many forums

Tough part is, that I'm running a custom theme so addons like that require quite a bit of modification to add. I've looked into it in the past and it was going to be a lot of work, so I shelved the idea for now.

There, I've added a basic like button on the Prosilver theme only. It won't do anything though for the users who are using the default Hawiki theme. Maybe in the coming weeks, I'll get around to modifying it to work in the other theme.

Great ,
Do look into the possibility of adding a "Solved" button also ,Helps to know which thread was solved and which once remain unsolved

Simon ,
The "TJ" In The DCM Seems To Be The Key Here Along With Many Other Factors .

Hi everyone!

I write to ask about the repair of a Western Digital hard drive. I used a higher voltage power supply and the hard disk imploded.
I cannot spend 500-2000$ as I have seen on the internet, but I want to try to repair it, so I would like you to help me from your experience.
I read on the internet that it is the PCB board does not work (burned) and that I have to find a "donor" disk to use its PCB board, in which I must weld the component that carries the BIOS. Is that true?

My questions are:
Is there a probability of success in the next case? and if not, How much concordance has to have the DCM or S/N?

Thanks for answering and best regards, the information of both hard drives is below :)

My model is the following:
Western Digital 320gb
Product of Thailand
Parameters of the unit: LBA 625142448
Model: WD3200JB - 00KFA0
Date: January 29, 2007
DCM: HHBACAJCAN
S/N: WCAMR4386550

The donor that is found has the following characteristics:
Western Digital 320gb
Product of Thailand
Parameters of the unit: LBA 625142448
Model: WD3200JB - 00KFA0
Date: January 29, 2007
DCM: HHCHCAJAHN
S/N: WCAMR4369163

Concordance between digits of S/N and DCM:
DCM: HHCHCAJAHN
DCM: HHBACAJCAN
DCM: 00xx000xx0

S/N: WCAMR4386550
S/N: WCAMR4369163
S/N: 0000000xxxxx

If the problem is only with the PCB, you only need to match the PCB version number and swap the ROM chip.
This will not be a very expensive process (if only PCB is dead).
Where are you located?

Given that those are made the same day on the same site, the PCB may work without even needing to transfer the ROM. I've often seen this work on such an old model. Often within a week is close enough for the adaptives to work. But, if not, you'll just need to transfer the U12 chip as pclab suggested to make it compatible.

There is thought the possibility that the extra power made it all the way through and cooked the read/write heads. I've seen that happen as well.
