[post]4056[/post] I know I've seen a number of cases where the key at the end and the SA one were different and the SA one didn't work anymore.
i think that this happens if it's user password protected

Yes, or if they do the secure reset option which also changes the key.

Hello,

today I analise a little more:
diska manager reports healthy primary partition with size of 297,43GB, without file system. Separately reported WD Smartware.
First file is recovered from sector 3200000.
I find strange pattern from sector 1 to sector 62(ED EE 92 55 CB 00 21 60 53 EA 16 64 AF 62 32 6F)
from sector 167 to sector 174246 (55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55)

all encrypted drives have a pattern between the MBR and the Boot sector
and for that matter all the sectors who supposed to be filled with 0x00 will have the same or some pattern
or rather they are actually filled in with 0x00, but the encryption turned it to this pattern
